NEDS Members,
Due to the FAA’s recently published “Interpretation of the Special Rules for Model Aircraft” NEDS members voted at the July meeting to suspend all RC flying at Mansfield damn and lake until our August meeting. At that time we hope to have additional information and a better understanding of the FAA requirement and how it affect us. This suspension includes flying from the grass runway and float flying.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call or email me.
Curt G, NEDS President 2014

The August Meeting will be held on Thursday August 7, 2014. It will be held at the Coventry Flying Field! We are outside for the year, so come out and get a flight or two in before the meeting!
Hope to see you there!

Weekly Flying

Hi Gang,
I am getting this out a little earlier this week. No reason, just early. We are looking at Tuesday this week as our fly day. In several weeks we will be back to being able to fly all 5 week days but we will still select a good day for flying with our group.
President Curt has been writing letters to AMA and FAA and Windam Airport trying to get our use of the Mansfield back. Looking promising.
Please watch your lose shirts and transmitter cords when starting glow engines. Even electrics can catch on something. Have seen several close ones in the last couple weeks.
Fly safely,
Don and Greg

Weekly Up-dates!

NEDS Members,
Attached are my comments and Jim Knox’s comment posted or sent to the FAA in response to their Interpretation of Special Rules for Model Aircraft.
We need everyone to take a moment and post a comment. It need not be detailed or long, just your thoughts on what the FAA has “ruled” and how it will affect our hobby.
Post you comment at: Then scroll down to “What’s Trending” and under that heading you will see “Interpretation of the Special Rule for Model Aircraft”. Click on that and it will take you to the page with the blue “Comment Now” button.

Thanks guys,
